HOMEMADE BLACKBERRY AND PAPAYA ICE CREAM

Store-bought ice creams often contain a lengthy list of ingredients, many of which are unnecessary, like corn syrup. That’s why my family and I decided to make our own. We’re not vegetarians or strict dieters, but we care about what goes into our food. Our homemade ice cream is a delicious, healthier alternative to store-bought options, made with simple ingredients and customizable to your taste. You can replace the white cane sugar with any sweetener you prefer. Enjoy a fresh, healthy homemade ice cream!

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 46 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of milk or half and half
  • 2 cups of whipping cream (or more if needed, especially if adding fruit)
  • 1 tsp. of vanilla extract
  • ¾ to 1 cup of white cane sugar (adjust to taste; substitute with your preferred sweetener)

For the Papaya Ice Cream:

  • 2 cups of papaya, chopped

For the Blackberry Ice Cream:

  • 1 ½ cups of blackberries

Instructions

  • Blend Ingredients: Combine all ingredients in a blender, including your chosen fruit (papaya or blackberries).
  • Churn: Pour the blended mixture into an ice cream machine. We recommend using this ice cream machine for best results.
